Buddy Group
Anti Drug Abuse Campaign aims at prevention of drug abuse through mass awareness amongst all the college students. The program will focus ”Nashea toh Aazadi”.
Objective of Buddy Program:
The objective of the program is to develop the requisite life skills in the students to enable them to choose appropriate courses of action that prevent them from falling prey to drug abuse.
Buddy’s program shall be structured and institionalized accordingly in keeping with the following:-
College will constitute BUDDYS’ Groups comprising of not more than 5 students in each of its classes.
Every class will be allotted to a teacher by the principal, called a Senior BUDDY.
Role of Nodal Officer:
- A buddy group should have a healthy mix of gender, caste, religion and Economic status.
- The students would we trained to develop knowledge ,attitude and behavioral skills in the following aspects:-
- What are drugs and their ill-effects;
- Who is a Buddy, what is a Buddy group and how does it function;
- How to say ‘NO’ drugs;
- How to recognize the signs of drugs abuse in your Buddy;
- what to do if such signs are noticed?
- The Principal of each college should provide about 30 minutes, every week to the students to interact with each other in the Buddys’ group.
- The DC’s should immediately identify 16 Senior Buddies as per Following : –
- 4 from Govt. Schools.
- 4 from Govt. Colleges.
- 4 from Pvt. Colleges.
